Delete Your Account
Account & Data Deletion
We respect your right to delete your account and all associated data from RemitSMS. You can request account deletion using any of the methods below.
Method 1: From the App
- Open the RemitSMS app
- Go to Settings
- Tap Disconnect Device
- Your device will be unregistered and local data cleared
Method 2: Email Request
Send an email to support@remitpay.co.in with the subject line "Delete My Account" and include:
- Your registered device name
- Your mobile number associated with the device
We will process your request within 48 hours.
What Gets Deleted
When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed:
- Device registration and authentication tokens
- SMS delivery history and logs
- Points balance and redemption history
- All personal information (device name, SIM details)
This action is irreversible. You will need to re-register if you wish to use RemitSMS again.
Data Retention After Deletion
- Aggregated, anonymized statistics (total SMS counts) may be retained for analytics.
- Billing records may be retained for up to 90 days as required by law.
- All personally identifiable information will be deleted within 48 hours of the request.
